Monitor GDS Data

- Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Ignition "OFF" and then Ignition "ON".
- Choose the area type (figure below).
- Ignition "OFF" & Waiting 20 secs.
- Ignition "ON".
- Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's)" mode again.
- Are any DTCs present?
YES
- Substitute with a known-good steering column & EPS unit assembly check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace steering column & EPS unit assembly and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
NO
- Fault is intermittent caused by faulty EPS ECU or was repaired and EPS ECU memory was not cleared. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
