Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Calibration

  1. Connect KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Align front wheels straight.
  3. Ignition "ON".
  4. Perform "Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Calibration" on "Vehicle S/W Management  " in EPS system with KDS/GDS.

  5. Operate vehicle or system according to enable condition.
  6. Check for "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)  " with KDS/GDS.
  7. Is DTC status displayed as Present?

    YES 

    • Substitute with known-good MDPS Assembly and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace MDPS Assembly and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
    CAUTION: In case of replacing MDPS Assembly, perform following procedures.
    1. "EPS Type Recognition" for load accurate EPS type into ECU.
    2. "ASP Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction.

    NO 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
