CAN Resistor Inspection

  1. Ignition switch "OFF"
  2. Disconnect battery (-) cable.
  3. Refer to "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) - 2.4L , ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) - 3.3L , and RELAY BOX (PASSENGER COMPARTMENT) " and disconnect PCM and IGPM connector.
  4. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 13 (P-CAN High) and Pin No. 14 (P-CAN Low) terminal of IGPM.
  5. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 10 (P-CAN High) and Pin No. 35 (P-CAN Low) terminal of PCM.

    Specification:  Approx. 120 Ω

  6. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace IGPM or PCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
