DTC P2290: Injector Control Pressure Too Low: General Description
The Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (FRPS) provides a fuel rail pressure feedback signal to the ECM/PCM, the ECM/PCM then operates the fuel pressure control valve to command the correct pulse width and injector timing for correct fuel delivery at all speeds and load conditions. The high pressure pump adds high pressure to the low pressure fuel system (in-tank fuel pump). The fuel pressure regulator controls fuel pressure from 40 (4MPa/580.15psi) to 150bar (15MPa/2175.57psi). Under abnormal condition of the high pressure fuel system, the ECM/PCM goes into limp mode and controls fuel system using low fuel pressure.
