DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible cause
DTC Strategy
  • Monitoring CAN communication
 Under wake condition
  • Open or short in CAN high/low line
  • Shorted circuit between CAN high and low line
  • Faulty SMK
    CAUTION: CAN high has ground voltage and CAN low has battery voltage during sleep condition.
Enable Condition
  • Ignition "ON" and power is supplied to SMK Unit
    1. Short to battery in CAN High line
    2. Short to battery in CAN Low line
    3. Short to ground in CAN High line
    4. Short to ground in CAN Low line
    5. Shorted circuit between CAN High and Low line.
    6. Short to 5V power in CAN High line
    7. Open in CAN High line
    8. Open In CAN Low line
Threshold Value
  • CAN high:

    CAN high line is shorted to ground if voltage in CAN high line is 0V.

    CAN high line is shorted to power if voltage in CAN high line is B+

  • CAN low:

    CAN low line is shorted to ground if voltage in CAN high line is 0V.

    CAN low line is shorted to power if voltage in CAN high line is B+
Diagnostic Condition
  • Fault continues for 2s at normal battery voltage (9V to 16V)
DTC Erasing Time
  • DTC immediately erased after the solving the fault at the normal voltage (Active DTC)
  • 30 Ignition cycles (History DTC)
