System Inspection

■ Check intake system for blockage 

1. Visually/physically inspect the following items:
   • Air cleaner filter element for excessive dirt or for any foreign objects.
   • Hoses of intake system for blockage.
   • Throttle body inlet for damage or for any foreign objects.
   • Throttle plate for carbon deposits.
2. Has a problem been found in any of the above areas?

   YES 

   • Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

   NO 

   • Go to "Perform ETC Motor Actuation Test" procedure.

■ Perform ETC Motor Actuation Test 

1. Connect KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
3. Perform "Actuation Test" for "ETC Motor".

■ Inspect ETC Motor 

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect ETC Motor connector.
3. Measure resistance between power and control terminal of the ETC Motor. (Component Side)

   Specification  : Approx. 0.3 to 100Ω [20°C (68°F)]

■ Confirm Part Inspection 

1. Does the ETC Motor operate properly? (Check variation)

   YES 

   • Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

   NO 

   • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
   • If the diagnostics have been performed correctly with no failure found, replace the ETC and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
