DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case1 DTC Strategy
  • ABS control state monitoring
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Open/short in signal circuit of front-LH wheel speed sensor
  3. Faulty wheel speed sensor front-LH
Enable Condition
  • Continuously on driving
Threshold Value
  • When continuous operation of ABS control to one (or over) wheel over 60s is detected
Failsafe
  • All functions are inhibited
Warning Lamp
  • The EBD/ABS/ESP (ESC) warning lamps are activated
Case2 DTC Strategy
  • The speed difference between wheels monitoring
Enable Condition
  • Continuous during driving
Threshold Value
  • If the following failure is detected caused by difference of wheel speed caused by an air gap or missing teeth detection
  1. Difference between FL wheels speed and RL wheels speed is 6 to 12km/h (3.7 to 7.4mph).

Difference between FR wheels speed and RR wheels speed is 6 to 12km/h (3.7 to 7.4mph).

Difference between FL wheels speed and FR wheels speed is 10 to 16km/h (6.2 to 12.4mph).

  2. Difference between FL wheels speed and RL wheels speed is greater than 12km/h (7.4mph).

Difference between FR wheels speed and RR wheels speed is greater than 12km/h (7.4mph).

Difference between FL wheels speed and FR wheels speed is greater than 16km/h (12.4mph). Fault detection time is maximum 10s

  3. Fault detection time is maximum 80s when spin occurs on front wheel
Failsafe
  • One wheel speed sensor fault
    • EBD/ESS/HAC/AVH: back up control
    • Fault is occurred inside the control: ABS is not allowed
    • Fault is occurred outside the control: ABS is not allowed after finishing current control in back up mode
    • TCS/VDC/VSM/HBA/SCC: controls are inhibited
  • More than 2 wheel speed sensor fault
    • EBD/ESS/HAC/AVH: back up control- The sensors of the driving wheel fault: ESS/HAC/AVH are not allowed
    • Fault is occurred inside the control: ABS is not allowed
    • Fault is occurred outside the control: ABS is not allowed after finishing current control in back up mode
    • TCS/VDC/VSM/HBA/SCC: controls are inhibited
  • More than 3 wheel speed sensor fault - All functions are inhibited
Warning Lamp
  • One or two wheel speed sensor fault
    • The ABS/ESP (ESC) warning lamps are activated. The AVH waring lmap is activated in case of the vehicle equipped with AVH
