Component Inspection

■ Front Wheel speed sensor inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect battery (-) cable.
  3. Refer to REMOVAL Front Wheel Speed Sensor, And REMOVAL Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Remove each wheel speed sensor.
  4. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 2 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 1 (Signal) terminal of wheel speed sensor.

    Specification:  Approx. 467.9 kΩ (68°F/20°C)

■ Rear Wheel speed sensor inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect battery (-) cable.
  3. Refer to REMOVAL Front Wheel Speed Sensor, And REMOVAL Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Remove each wheel speed sensor.
  4. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 2 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 1 (Signal) terminal of wheel speed sensor.

    Specification:  Approx. 3.9 MΩ (68°F/20°C)

  5. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace wheel speed sensor and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
