DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Return spring check
  1. Throttle blade stuck
  2. Open in ETC motor circuit
  3. Faulty ETC motor
  4. Faulty PCM
Enable Conditions
  • During TPS adaptation

  • Throttle position greater than Limp-home position +3%

  • 1 Driving cycle
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Abnormal TPS re-adaptation value
Enable Conditions
  • During TPS adaptation (throttle is made to approach the lower mech. throttle limit stop via ramp) Learned value already saved
Threshold Value
  • Throttle position 1 voltage at the lower limit stop less than 0.21V or throttle position 2 voltage at the lower limit stop greater than 4.84V or throttle position 1 and 2 voltage sum = 5V
Diagnostic Time
  • 0.3s
MIL ON Condition
  • 1 Driving cycle
Case 3 DTC Strategy
  • Abnormal TPS re-adaptation value
Enable Conditions
  • Delta Limphome (last drive cycle adaptation - current dive cycle adaptation) or ETC replaced or PCM reset
Threshold Value
  • Throttle position 1 voltage at the lower stop limit + offset greater than 0.695V
  • Throttle position 2 voltage at the lower stop limit - offset (0.025V) less than 4.305V

  • 0.3s

  • 1 Driving cycle
Case 4 DTC Strategy
  • TPS re-adaptation has failed due to corrupted input conditions
Enable Conditions
  • During TPS adaptation
Threshold Value
  • Engine speed greater than 250 RPM
  • Vehicle speed greater than 0 mph
  • Accelerator pedal greater than 14.9%
  • ECT less than 5.3°C (41.54°F)
  • ECT greater than 100.5°C (212.9°F)
  • IAT less than 5.3°C (41.54°F)

  • Immediate

  • TPS re-adaptation has failed due to corrupted input conditions
