Signal Circuit Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Kia K900. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- IG "ON", Engine "ON".
- Perform "Oscilloscope" procedure in the "Diagnosis" with GDS.
- Set WIPER & MIST SWITCH" up "INT (Auto)".
- Measure the signal waveform between Pin No. 15 (LIN) terminal of "BCM" harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: below image
- IG "OFF".
- Disconnect the BCM, Wiper Motor and Rain Sensor connector.
- Measure the voltage between Pin No. 3 (LIN) terminal of rain sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 0V
- Measure the resistance between Pin No. 15 (LIN) terminal of BCM harness connector and Pin No. 3 (LIN) terminal of rain sensor harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between Pin No. 1 (LIN) terminal of wiper motor harness connector and Pin No. 3 (LIN) terminal of rain sensor harness connector.
Specification: below 1Ω
- Measure the resistance between Pin No. 3 (LIN) terminal of rain sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: ∞ (infinite)Ω
- Does the measured value and signal waveform follow the reference data?
YES
- Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in circuit and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
