| DTC Strategy |
- Monitor the engine coolant temperature
|
- ECTS
|
| Enable Conditions |
Case 1 |
- Shutdown time longer than 180 minutes
- Intake air-temperature at start-up less than 40°C (104°F)
- No disabling faults (ECTS)
- Engine running longer than 60 seconds
- Minimum airflow is satisfied for a certain time
|
| Case 2 |
- Coolant sensor is normal
- No disabling faults present (DTCs related to MAFS/MAPS, catalyst, fuel system or engine oil temperature sensor)
- Coolant Temperature at startup less than 45°C (113 °F)
- Engine running state
- Coolant temperature greater than 50°C (122 °F)
- Intake air temperature less than 35°C (95 °F)
|
| Case 3 |
- Engine running state
- 6 hour cold sock IG-OFF
- No disabling faults (DTCs related to HO2S, MAFS/MAPS, catalyst, fuel system, ECTS, or misfire)
|
| Threshold value |
Case 1 |
- When the start-up engine coolant temperature does not rise by 3 °C (37.4°F)
|
| Case 2 |
- Coolant temperature greater than 110°C (230 °F)
(Average airflow less than 50 g/sec and filtered airflow less than 30 g/sec) |
| Case 3 |
- The difference between the current temperature and startup temperature less than 1.5 °C (34.7°F)
|
| Diagnosis Time |
Case 1 |
|
| Case 2 |
- Once per driving cycle (about 2 minutes)
|
| Case 3 |
- Once per driving cycle (More than 120 seconds failure)
