CAN Communication Line Inspection

■ Check For CAN Communication Signal Waveform 

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Ignition "ON" (Power Button LED "Red")
  3. Set-up the oscilloscope as mentioned below.
  4. Back probe and measure signal waveform of Pin No. 11 (Low) terminal of Data Link Connector (DLC) and chassis ground with VMI.
  5. Back probe and measure signal waveform of Pin No. 3 (High) terminal of Data Link Connector (DLC) and chassis ground with VMI.

    Specification:  Refer to Fig 1

  6. Is the measured signal waveform within specifications?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or EPCU's connector or was repaired and EPCU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
