SERVICE INFORMATION

This article provides diagnostic information in regards to the following customer complaints on 2014 MY vehicles with UVO eServices (non-Navigation) head units:

Media Button is inoperative
None of the Media (iPod, Jukebox, CD, BT Streaming, USB) modes are operational
Media locks up when playing iPod, Jukebox, CD, BT streaming, USB, podcasts, Pandora
When the reset button is pressed the media is operational, however, the media button still locks up intermittently.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Confirm the customer's issue. When the media button is pressed, the head unit shows media, however, the mode cannot be changed to another media mode and none of media modes will play.
Check the software level on the head unit. A countermeasure for this issue was applied to production vehicles in May of 2014 and has been applied to remanufactured units at the PDCs as of July 11, 2014.
NOTE: Any head units with software levels of 1.MP.1.009 or higher contain improved software to address this issue.
