Control Circuit Inspection

Check for Open in Harness

  1. IG KEY: OFF, Engine: OFF
  2. Disconnect ISCA connector and PCM connector.
  3. Measure resistance between terminal 1 of the ISCA harness connector and A28 of the PCM harness connector.
  4. Measure resistance between terminal 3 of the ISCA harness connector and A14 of the PCM harness connector.
  5. Measure resistance between terminal 4 of the ISCA harness connector and A29 of the PCM harness connector.
  6. Measure resistance between terminal 6 of the ISCA harness connector and A15 of the PCM harness connector.
    1. Specification: Approx. 0Ω

  7. Is the resistance within specifications?

    YES

    1. Go to "CHECK FOR SHORT TO GROUND" procedure.

    NO

    1. Repair open in harness, Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

Check for Short to Ground

  1. IG KEY: OFF, Engine: OFF
  2. Disconnect ISCA connector.
  3. Measure resistance between terminal 1 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
  4. Measure resistance between terminal 3 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
  5. Measure resistance between terminal 4 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
  6. Measure resistance between terminal 6 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
    1. Specification: infinite (Ω)

  7. Does the resistance indicate open?

    YES

    1. Go to "CHECK FOR SHORT TO BATTERY" procedure.

    NO

    1. Repair short to chassis ground in harness, Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

Check for Short to Battery

  1. IG KEY: ON, Engine: OFF
  2. Disconnect ISCA connector.
  3. Measure voltage between terminal 1 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
  4. Measure voltage between terminal 3 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
  5. Measure voltage between terminal 4 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
  6. Measure voltage between terminal 6 of the ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.
    1. Specification: Approx. 0V

  7. Is the voltage within specifications?

    YES

    1. Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.

    NO

    1. Repair short to battery in harness, Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
