Signal Circuit Inspection

Check Power to FTPS

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect fuel temperature sensor connector.
3. IG KEY: ON, Engine: OFF
4. Measure voltage between terminal "1" of fuel temperature sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
   1. Specification: Approx. 5V

5. Is the voltage within specifications?

   YES

   1. Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.

   NO

   1. Go to "CHECK FOR OPEN IN HARNESS" as below.

Check for Open in Harness

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect fuel temperature sensor connector and PCM connector.
3. Measure the resistance between terminal "1" of fuel temperature sensor harness connector and "C5" of PCM harness connector.
   1. Specification: Approx. 0Ω

4. Is the resistance within specifications?

   YES

   1. Go to "CHECK FOR SHORT TO BATTERY IN HARNESS" as bellow

   NO

   1. Check for open in Signal harness. Repair as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

Check for Short to Battery in Harness

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect fuel temperature sensor and PCM connector.
3. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
4. Measure the vertigo between terminal "1" of the fuel temperature sensor or "C5" of the PCM connector and chassis ground.
   1. Specification: Approx. 0V

5. Is the voltage within specifications?

   YES

   1. Go to "GROUND CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.

   NO

   1. Check for short to battery in Signal harness. Repair as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
