Check Engine Coolant Level and ECT Sensor
- Check engine coolant level.
- If needed, adjust coolant level, then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- If engine coolant level is proper, remove and check ECT sensor.
- Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of the ECT sensor harness connector.
- Specification:TEMPERATURE AND RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

- Is the ECT sensor within specifications?
YES
- Go to "CHECK THERMOSTAT " as below.
NO
- Check ECT sensor for contamination, deterioration, or damage. Substitute with a known-good ECT sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECT sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
