Triple Pressure Switch: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Kia Spectra5, 2005 Kia Spectra, and 2004 Kia Spectra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The triple switch is a combination of a medium switch as well as conventional low pressure and high pressure switches. The low pressure switch will be turned off to stop compressor operation if refrigerant pressure is low. The high pressure switch will be turned off to stop compressor operation if refrigerant pressure is too high. The medium switch will be turned on at medium level pressure to cool the A/C system while operating radiator fan and condenser fan at high speed.
