Active Stabilizer Bar System (ASBS): Notes
REMOVAL
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the front stabilizer bar skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect both stabilizer bar links from the stabilizer bar. Refer to LINK, STABILIZER BAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the heat shield bolts and remove the heat shield.
1 - Heat Shield Bolts - Disconnect the Active Stabilizer Bar System (ASBS) module wire harness connector.
1 - Stabilizer Bar Bolts 2 - Wire Harness Connector - Remove the stabilizer bar bolts from both sides.
- Remove the stabilizer bar, brackets, and bushings as an assembly.
- Remove the stabilizer bar brackets from the bushings.
- On the left side, remove the actuator bracket bolts.
- Remove the stabilizer bar bushings from the stabilizer bar.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- To enable a new ASBS module road test the vehicle until all indicator lamps stop flashing, then verify proper operation of four wheel drive and disconnecting stabilizer bar functions by actuating them electrically.
