Body Control Module (BCM)

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to 2.0L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM and/or 2.0L, BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM and/or 2.0L, 12-VOLT BATTERY DISCONNECT/CONNECT - PHEV and/or 3.0L, BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM and/or 3.6L, BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM and/or 3.6L, HYBRID, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM and/or 6.4L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM .
  2. Disconnect the right door wire harness connector and anchor clip.
  3. Remove the right front door check strap. Refer to CHECK, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the door cowl trim panel. Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
    NOTE:

    The Body Control Module (BCM) is covered by a water shield which can be lifted up to access the lower mounting fasteners. The water shield is removed in the images for clarity.

  5. Remove the mounting bracket fasteners from the BCM.
  6. Remove the BCM from the vehicle mounting bracket.

  7. Disconnect the BCM wire harness connectors and remove the BCM from the vehicle

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

NOTE:

Install water shield before the next step. The water shield was removed in the images for clarity.

NOTE:

If the BCM does not program, please disconnect the battery, wait 15 seconds, reconnect the battery and run the BCM immobilizer replace routine again.
