Insulator, Engine Mount, Rear: Installation

4x4 rear engine mount isolator shown, 4x2 rear engine mount isolator similar. 

NOTE:

Threadlocking compound must be applied to the bolts before installation.

  1. Position the rear engine mount isolator, install the retaining bolts and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

    4x4 rear engine mount isolator shown, 4x2 rear engine mount isolator similar. 

    Right side crossmember retaining bolts shown, left side crossmember retaining bolts similar. 

  2. Position the transmission crossmember, install the retaining bolts (4) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Position both transmission crossmember support brackets, install the retaining bolts (2, 3) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Using a suitable jack, lower the transmission into position, install the rear engine mount isolator retaining bolts (1) finger tight.
  5. Remove the jack supporting the transmission.
  6. Tighten the rear engine mount isolator retaining bolts (1) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
