Insulator, Engine Mount, Front: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to REMOVAL  .
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to 5.7L/6.4L .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle.

  5. Remove the belly pan retainers (1) and remove the belly pan.
    NOTE:

    The A/C system does not need to be evacuated or recharged for the A/C compressor positioning.

  6. Disconnect and position aside the A/C compressor wiring harness.
  7. Remove the A/C compressor from the engine block and position aside. Refer to COMPRESSOR, A/C, REMOVAL .
  8. Lower the vehicle.

    NOTE:

  9. Remove left/right engine mount heat shield (3) retaining nuts (2) and remove the heat shields
  10. Remove left/right engine mount lower retaining bolts (1).
  11. For the right side  engine mount replacement. Remove the generator. Refer to 6.4L .

    NOTE:

    Do not use air tools to install the engine lift fixture.

  12. Install the Engine Lift Fixture (special tool #8984C, Fixture, Engine Lifting) (1), Engine Lift Adapter (special tool #8984-UPD, Adapter, Engine Lift) (2) and the Engine Support Fixture (special tool #8534C, Fixture, Driveline Support) (3).
  13. Raise the engine to provide clearance to remove the engine mounts.
  14. Raise and support the vehicle.

  15. Remove left/right engine mount retaining bolts (1) and remove the engine mounts (2).

  16. If necessary, remove engine mount to engine block mounting bracket retaining bolts (1) and remove the mounting brackets (2).
