Isolator, Rear CROSSMEMBER, Differential: Installation
NOTE:
Prior to using the special tool (special tool #8838-2, Screw Assembly) (1) lubricate the threads to provide ease of use and promote tool longevity.
NOTE:
When installing the thrust bearing, be sure to place hardened side toward bolt head.
NOTE:
A mixture of soap and water may be used to aid installation of the isolator.
- Assemble tools over isolator as shown.

- Isolator (2)
- (special tool #9520-2A, Installer, Bushing) (3)
- (special tool #8173-3, Remover/Installer) (4)
- Rear Suspension Crossmember (5)
- (special tool #9031-7A, Installer, Bushing) (6)
- While holding the nut (4) from rotating, tighten Screw Assembly 8838-2 (1) using hand tools , pressing the isolator (2) into the crossmember (4). Stop when the isolator (2) bottoms against Remover/Installer, Bushing 9031-7A (6).
- Remove the tools.
- Carefully raise the rear axle.
- Install the two rear axle to crossmember bolts (1) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Install rear axle forward mounting bolt/nut (1) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Position the stabilizer bar (2) and install the upper and lower stabilizer bar to cradle bolts (1) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the exhaust as necessary. Refer to TAILPIPE, EXHAUST, INSTALLATION .
