Theory Of Operation
The dynamics sensor is internal to the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC)
The Brake System Control Module (BSCM) learns internal offsets based on information supplied from the Dynamics Sensor. The BSCM compares the steering wheel angle to vehicle inputs such as wheel speeds and acceleration to determine the Dynamics Sensor offsets for accuracy. When the ABS Initialization routine is performed, the BSCM will reset the Dynamics Sensor data to a compensated value in the BSCM until the vehicle drive test is completed. This DTC will set in the BSCM when the dynamics sensor offset data is out of range. This fault can only be cleared after performing the ABS initialization. The actual dynamics sensor value data is displayed in the ORC. If the internal offsets have never been learned, or the Dynamics Sensor has been replaced the fault is set.
