Water Pump Inlet Tube

  1. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
  2. Using a NEW  gasket, install the water pump inlet tube (3) and tighten the two screws (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
  3. Install the oil cooler hose (4) to the water pump inlet tube (3).
  4. Install the EGR cooler hose (2) to the water pump inlet tube (3).

  5. Install the two wire harness retainers (1) to the water pump inlet tube (2).

  6. Install the lower radiator hose (1) to the water pump inlet tube.
  7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  8. Evacuate air and fill cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION  .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  10. Start the engine and check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to LEAK TESTING  .
