Insulator, Engine Mount, Rear: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. If equipped, remove the skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, SIDE, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the left front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the fastener (1) and remove the negative battery cable (2) from the transmission (3).
    CAUTION:

    Failure to remove the negative battery cable may overstress to the cable due to bending during service.

  5. Using a paint pen or marker, mark the location of the rear isolator (strut) on the front crossmember isolator (1).
  6. Take a measurement from the powertrain to the engine cradle to be used as a reference dimension during reassembly.
  7. Support the powertrain with a suitable jack.
  8. Remove the rear insulator to cradle through bolt (2).

  9. Remove the rear insulator to engine mount bracket through bolt and nut (1).
  10. Position the engine forward to allow the rear insulator to be removed from the vehicle.

  11. If required, remove the transmission pivot bracket bolts (1) and remove the transmission pivot bracket.
  12. If required, remove the front crossmember isolator. Refer to ISOLATOR, FRONT CROSSMEMBER, TORSION, REMOVAL .
