Rear Door

The following test procedure applies to the rear door power window switches on all vehicles equipped with power windows, with or without power locks.

  1. Remove the power window switch from the rear door trim panel. Refer to SWITCH, POWER WINDOW, REMOVAL .
  2. Using an ohmmeter, test the continuity between the terminals of the rear door power window switch as shown in illustration in the Rear Door Power Window Switch Tests table.
    REAR DOOR POWER WINDOW SWITCH TESTS
    SWITCH POSITION CONTINUITY BETWEEN (PINS)
    NEUTRAL 1 and 4, 3 and 6
    UP 2 and 4, 3 and 5
    DOWN 2 and 3, 4 and 5
  3. If a switch fails any of the tests, replace the ineffective rear door power window switch as required.
