NOTE:
The molded plastic ball socket clips in the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) module mounting bracket MUST be removed, discarded and replaced with new ball socket clips any time the ACC module is removed from the bracket.
- Install three new molded plastic ball socket clips into the ACC module mounting bracket, located below the center of the front bumper support bar. The clips are installed from the back side of the bracket by rotating them clockwise.
- Position the ACC module to the mounting bracket.
- Align the one fixed and the two adjustable ball studs of the ACC module with the three plastic ball socket clips in the ACC module mounting bracket.
- Using hand pressure, firmly and evenly press on the face of the module until each of the ball studs snaps into the ball socket clips.
- Using the ACC module mounting bracket fasteners, install the ACC module and bracket onto the vehicle.
- Connect the wire harness connector to the ACC module connector receptacle.
- Install the front skid plate and air dam. Refer to PLATE, SKID, TRANSFER CASE, INSTALLATION .
- Check the ACC module vertical alignment. Refer to MODULE, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
- With the scan tool, and the appropriate diagnostic information, perform the horizontal module alignment procedure.
