Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    NOTE:

    If the vehicle is equipped with a cam bolt service kit, paint or scribe marks on the cam adjuster and the control arm for installation reference.

  2. Using a suitable stand support the front axle assembly.

  3. Remove the upper control arm front nut and the upper control arm front bolt (1).

  4. Remove the two heat shield bolts (1) and remove the heat shield (2).

  5. Remove the upper control arm rear bolt (1) and retain the flag nut to be reused.
  6. Remove the upper control arm (2).
