2.0L GMET4

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connectors from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
  3. Remove the PCM retaining bolts.
  4. Remove the PCM from the mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Position the PCM onto the mounting bracket.
  2. Check the pin connectors in the PCM. Also check the wire harness connectors for corrosion or damage. Repair as necessary.
  3. Install the mounting bolts for the PCM and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Carefully plug the connectors into the PCM.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    NOTE:

    If the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and original vehicle mileage is not programed into the PCM, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.

  6. If installing a new PCM, use a diagnostic scan tool to reprogram the new PCM. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
