8.4 Inch: Removal

NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Use caution when removing the radio bezel because the metal retaining clips (1) on the bezel will hook the screen on the 8.4 inch radio (2) and may cause damage.
- Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the center trim bezel (1) from the instrument panel.
- Be certain the retaining tabs are fully disengaged from the instrument panel.
- Remove the fasteners (1) securing the radio (2) to the instrument panel.
- Pull the radio out far enough to access the back of the radio.
- Radios equipped with navigation, disconnect the antenna cables (1) and radio wire harness connector (3).
- If equipped, disconnect the USB connector (2).
- Remove the radio (4) from the instrument panel.
- Radios without navigation, disconnect the antenna cables (3) and the radio wire harness connector (1).
- If equipped, disconnect the USB connector (2).
- Remove the radio (4) from the instrument panel.
