Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the left rear quarter trim panel to access the Park Assist Module (PAM). Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL
.
- Remove the fasteners (1a) that secure the PAM (1b).
- Disconnect the wire harness connectors (2a and 2b) from the PAM.
- Remove the PAM (3) from the vehicle.
