Removal And Installation: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jeep Renegade. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Separate the rear view mirror trim covers to gain access to the Forward Facing Camera Module (FFCM). Refer to MIRROR, REARVIEW, REMOVAL .

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1a) from the FFCM (2a).
  4. The FFCM is attached to a bracket (2b) in a hook and rotate fashion. Rotate the FFCM downwards while disengaging the bracket's hooks to release from the bracket (2b).
    NOTE:

It is easier to remove the FFCM while sitting in the passenger seat.
