Initial Installation - LHD
- Before installation, make a note of the data on the label at of the control module. This data will be needed for the test procedure at the end of the installation.
- Apply a strip of bi-adhesive Velcro to the back of the T-box module.
- Apply the Coroplast covering tape to the parts of the T-box module in contact with the vehicle to prevent vibration noise when it is mounted on the vehicle.
- Inspect the T-box wiring for Coroplast tape (2) covering up to the wire harness connector. Add Coroplast tape as needed.
- Disconnect and insulate the negative battery cable. If the vehicle is equipped with an intelligent battery sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector before disconnecting the negative battery cable from the battery.
- Using a trim stick or equivalent tool to remove the side panel (1).
- Position the door seal aside. Using a trim stick or equivalent tool, remove the right front sill plate (1).
- Using a trim stick or equivalent tool, remove the lower right hand kick plate (1).
- Using a suitable tool to remove the three fasteners (1a) from the right sound-proof panel (1b) and lower it. Disconnect any wire harness connectors.
- Release the side retainers (1a) and separate the glove box (1b) from its seat.
- Remove the four lower screws (1) of the glove box compartment.
- Remove the two screws located inside the rubber compartment closing dampers (1).
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (1a) from the lamp, then remove the glove box surround (1b).
- Using isopropyl alcohol or heptane, clean the contact surface of the bracket on which the T-box will be fitted (1).
- Position the T-box (1a) on the bracket with the connector socket facing upwards. Secure the T-box with double-sided adhesive tape and two cable ties (1b) through the slots in the bracket.
- Connect the wire harness connector (1a) to the T-box (1b).
- In the right door pillar area, locate the connector XY7001A
(1a).
- Cut a section of approximately 5 cm (2 in.) from the wiring (1), removing the ground ring terminal.
- Install the ground bypass using a signal tap (1b) on PIN 20
of the connector.
- Apply coroplast tape around the signal tap (1) to prevent it from opening or creating noise.
- Locate and disconnect the wire harness connector (1), located in the kick panel.
- Cut a section of approximately 5 cm (2in.) from the wiring with the tower connectors (1) KL15
and KL30
.
- Install four connections using signal taps (1). The table below contains pins for each signal tap for the corresponding model year.

- Connect the wire harness connector (1a), gather the wiring branches (1b) and secure them with a cable tie (1c) to the existing wiring in the vehicle (1d).
- From the top, gather the wiring (1a) and secure (1b) to the existing wiring in the vehicle.
- Install the glove box surround and connect the wire harness connector for the lamp.
- Install the six screws of the glove box surround and tighten securely.
- Install the glove box and secure it in the internal retainers and attach the side retainer.
- Install the lower trim in position, connect any wire harness connectors and secure the retaining buttons.
- Install the kick panel.
- Install the side panel and fit the door seal.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
