Removal And Installation
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the right rear wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to
SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) wire harness connector (2) then detach the wire harness retainers.
- Remove the nuts (1) and the DEF dosing control unit (3).
- If necessary, detach the DEF filler tube retainer (2).
- If necessary, remove the upper nut (1) and securing the DEF dosing control unit bracket.
- If necessary, detach the DEF vent tube retainer (2).
- If necessary, remove the lower nuts (3) and the DEF control unit bracket (1).
INSTALLATION
- If removed, install the DEF control unit bracket (1) and tighten the lower nuts (3) to the proper specification. Refer to DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID EMISSIONS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- If removed, attach the DEF vent tube retainer (2).
- If removed, install the upper nut (1) securing the DEF dosing control unit bracket and tighten the nut (1) to the proper specification. Refer to DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID EMISSIONS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- If removed, attach the DEF filler tube retainer (2).
- Install the DEF control unit (3) and tighten the nuts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID EMISSIONS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the DEF control unit wire harness connector (2) then attach the wire harness retainers.
- Install the right rear wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
