2.2L Diesel

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECTION .

2. Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) wire harness connectors (1).

3. Remove the bolts (1) and the PCM (2).

INSTALLATION

1. Install the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) (2) to the mounting bracket and tighten the bolts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
2. Check the pin connectors in the PCM. Also check the wire harness connectors for corrosion or damage. Repair as necessary.

3. Connect the PCM wire harness connectors (1).
4. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECTION .
   NOTE:

   If the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and original vehicle mileage is not programed into the PCM, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.

5. If installing a new PCM, use a diagnostic scan tool to reprogram the new PCM. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
