Switch, Evaporative Emissions System Monitor: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the Evaporative System Integrity Monitor (ESIM) switch (4).
  4. Disconnect the fresh air hose (5) from the ESIM switch (4).

  5. A lock tab (1) is used on the back of the switch. Push lock tab towards switch while rotating switch counterclockwise 1/4 turn for removal.

  6. Remove the ESIM from the EVAP canister.
