1.6L, 2.0L: Removal

Open the cover of the fuse box in the engine compartment and remove the fuse F21 (15 A) of the fuel pump.
Start the engine and run until the fuel in the lines is depleted.
Install the fuse removed earlier and close the fuse box cover.
Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to SEAT CUSHION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Lift the cover, unscrew the screws and remove the cover to access the fuel pump (1).

Unplug the fuel pump's electrical connection (1).
Disconnect the fuel supply pipe quick coupling (2).
Disconnect the fuel return pipe quick coupling (3).

Mount the 2000002100 (EMEA) or (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) (NAFTA) tool (1a) and remove the pump assembly mounting ring set (1b).

Remove the fuel pump assembly (1).

Remove the seal on the tank (1).
