2.8L Diesel

  1. Automatic starter bolts (2) mount from the engine (front) side.

  2. Standard starter bolts (2) mount from the transmission (back) side.
  3. Rotate starter assembly (1) to allow positioning into transmission.
  4. Install two starter mounting bolts (2) and tighten. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS - STARTER .

  5. Position battery cable assembly (2) onto stud (3) while pushing solenoid connector (5) onto solenoid terminal.
  6. Install nut (1) and tighten. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS - STARTER .
  7. Four Wheel Drive Equipped:  Install front propeller shaft.
  8. Lower vehicle.
  9. Connect negative battery cable.
