Gearshift Control Cable: Installation: Installation

CAUTION:
Gearshift cable bushings must not be lubricated or the bushings will swell and split.
- Install cable assembly through floor pan opening and secure to floor pan with grommet plate.
- Route transaxle end of cable assembly into engine compartment and over transaxle assembly.
- Connect cables (1) to the shift levers (3) at the transaxle.
- Install cables (1) to bracket (4).
- Install gearshift cables (1).
- Install ORC. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, INSTALLATION .
- Install shifter. Refer to MECHANISM, GEARSHIFT, INSTALLATION .
- Install battery tray.
- Install battery and hold-down clamp.
- Install the air cleaner assembly.
- Connect battery cables.
