Valve-EGR Air Flow Control: Removal: Removal

The EGR air control valve (9) is located near the center of the intake manifold (7). A cast intake housing (3) connects the control valve to the intake manifold.

  1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable at battery.
  2. Remove plastic engine cover.

  3. Remove rubber intake tube clamp (3).
  4. Disconnect rubber tube (2) from air control valve (1).

  5. Disconnect air control valve electrical connector from control valve at point (2).

  6. Remove EGR air control valve mounting bolts (2) and remove valve (9).
  7. Remove and discard old mounting gasket located between EGR air control valve (9) and intake manifold connecting housing (3).
  8. Clean mounting areas at bottom of air control valve and at intake manifold connecting housing (3).
