6.1L Engine

1 - CATALYTIC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
2 - MUFFLER
3 - CLAMP
4 - RH RESONATOR AND TAILPIPE
5 - LH RESONATOR AND TAILPIPE
  1. Raise the vehicle and support the rear of the vehicle by the side rails and allow the axle to hang free.
  2. Saturate the bolts and nuts with heat valve lubricant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
  3. Remove muffler (2) isolators.
  4. Remove resonator and tailpipe assembly (4 and 5) from isolators.
  5. Remove the muffler-to-catalytic converter assembly flange nuts.
  6. Remove the muffler (2) and resonator and tailpipe assembly (4 and 5) from vehicle.
  7. Remove muffler-to-resonator clamps (3).
  8. Separate LH and RH resonators (4 and 5) from muffler assembly (2).
  9. Remove muffler (2) from vehicle.
