Direct Ignition System: Notes

The ignition systems used on both the 2.4L and 4.0L engines are a distributorless type. The ignition system consists of spark plugs, spark plug cables (secondary wires), ignition coil(s), PCM, CKP sensor, and CMP sensor. The MAP sensor, TPS, IAC motor, and ECT sensor also have an effect on the control of the ignition system.
