Hazard Lamps Inoperative With VTSS

Possible Causes:

• Hazard Switch
• Actuate Hazard Lamps With DRB
• Hazard Lamp Control Circuit
• Hazard Lamp Control Open
• Hazard Lamp Operation
• Body Control Module

Testing

1. Attempt to operate the Hazard Lamps with the Hazard Lamp switch. Do the hazard lamps operate from the Hazard Lamp switch? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair the Hazard Lamps. Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST  .
2. Turn the Hazard Lamp switch off. With the DRBIII(R), actuate the Hazard Lamps. Do the Hazard Lamps operate while actuating? If yes, replace the Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  . If no, go to next step.
3. Turn the Hazard Lamp switch off. Disconnect the Body Control Module Cl connector. Connect a jumper wire between Hazard Lamp Control circuit and ground. Did the Hazard Lamps operate? If yes, replace the Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  . If no, go to next step.
4. Disconnect the Hazard Switch connector. Disconnect the Body Control Module C1 connector. Measure the resistance of the Hazard Lamp Control circuit between the BCM C1 connector and the Hazard Switch connector. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? If yes, replace the Hazard Switch. Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST  . If no, repair the Hazard Lamp Control circuit for an open between the BCM and the Hazard Switch. Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST  .
