- Open driver's door. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Read DRV DOOR AJAR SW status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display CLOSED, go to step 3.
- Replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Remove driver's door trim panel. Disconnect driver's door lock motor/ajar switch 4-pin connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and driver's door lock motor/ajar switch connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). See Fig 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire between driver's door lock motor/ajar switch connector and ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) connector C1. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Tan/Red wire between driver's door lock motor/ajar switch connector terminal No. 1 and DDM connector C1 terminal No. 11. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Tan/Red wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Ensure driver's door is open. Connect driver's door lock motor/ajar switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and DDM connector C1 terminal No. 11 (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace driver's door lock motor/ajar assembly. See appropriate
