Heated Seat Switch Illumination Light Inoperative

  1. Remove and inspect driver's heated seat switch light bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  2. Remove and inspect passenger's heated seat switch light bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver's heated seat switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and driver's heated seat switch connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire). See Fig 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger's heated seat switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and passenger's heated seat switch connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  5. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Orange wire between passenger's heated seat switch connector terminal No. 2 and BCM connector C1 terminal No. 12. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Orange wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  6. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Orange wire between driver's heated seat switch connector terminal No. 2 and BCM connector C1 terminal No. 12. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Orange wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  7. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
