  1. Open liftgate flip-up glass. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Read LIFTGLASS SW status. If scan tool does not display CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Remove rear liftgate trim panel. Disconnect liftgate flip-up glass ajar switch connector. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and liftgate flip-up glass ajar switch connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire). If resistance is less 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire between liftgate flip-up glass ajar switch and ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Disconnect junction block connector C1. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Violet/Yellow wire between liftgate flip-up glass ajar switch connector terminal No. 2 and junction block connector C1 terminal No. 24. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Violet/Yellow wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Disconnect liftgate flip-up glass ajar switch connector. Ensure latch of switch is in unlatched position. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals on liftgate flip-up glass ajar switch. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, test is complete. If resistance is 2 ohms or greater, replace defective switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
