Parking Lights Will Not Turn Off

  1. Remove parking light relay from junction block. See Figure. Install a known-good relay in junction block. Operate parking lights. If parking lights do not operate correctly, go to next step. If parking lights operate correctly, replace defective parking light relay. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Using scan tool, select BODY SENSORS. Read HEADLIGHT SW VOLTS. Rotate headlight switch through all positions. Compare with HEADLIGHT SWITCH VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS  table. If voltage is within specification, go to next step. If voltage is not within specification, replace left multifunction switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Remove parking lights relay from junction block. If parking lights are not illuminated, go to next step. If parking lights are illuminated, repair parking light output circuit between relay and parking light bulbs. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Ensure parking light relay is installed. Turn ignition off. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from back of junction block. See Figure. Turn ignition on. If parking lights are not illuminated, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If parking lights are illuminated, replace junction block. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
