No Response From Cab Controller
- Using scan tool, select PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, then select AIRBAG. Monitor scan tool display. Select ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. If scan tool displays version and/or part number for either module, go to next step. If scan tool does not display version and/or part number for either module, go to COMPLETE PCI BUS FAILURE .
- Remove and inspect junction block fuse No. 19. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to 6) .
- Visually inspect Dark Blue/Pink wire from Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) to junction block. Ensure harness is not damaged or chafing against ground source. Repair as needed. If harness is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Remove junction block fuse No. 19. Disconnect CAB connector. Connect test light between 12 volts and terminal No. 4 (Dark Blue/Pink wire) on CAB harness connector. If test light is illuminated, repair Dark Blue/Pink wire for short to ground. If light is not illuminated, test is complete.
- Ensure ignition is off. Remove driver's side knee blocker below steering column. Disconnect junction port splice connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Yellow/Violet wire between terminal No. 10 on CAB harness connector and terminal No. 2 on junction port. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Yellow/Violet/Orange wire.
- Ensure junction block fuse No. 19 is removed. Measure resistance of Dark Blue/Pink wire between terminal No. 4 on CAB harness connector and fused ignition switch output terminal on fuse No. 19 socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Dark Blue/Pink wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminals No. 8 and 24 (Black/Orange wires) on CAB harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms for both circuits, replace CAB. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater on either circuit, repair suspect open circuit.
