Driver's Window Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove driver's door trim panel. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 15-pin C1 connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to step  21 .
  2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, go to step  10 . If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If voltage is .02 volts or less, go to step  8 . If voltage is greater than .02 volts, go to next step.
  4. Connect DDM connector. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 15-pin C1 connector. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If any voltage is present, repair Light Blue wire for short to voltage. If no voltage is present, go to next step.
  6. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, go to next step.
  7. Ensure DDM C1 connector is disconnected. Disconnect driver's window motor connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If any voltage is present, repair White wire for short to voltage. If no voltage is present, go to step  10 .
  8. Connect DDM connector and window motor connector. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  9. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, inspect window mechanism. Repair as needed. If mechanism is okay, replace window motor.
  10. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If voltage is .02 volts or less, go to step  17 . If voltage is greater than .02 volts, go to next step.
  11. Connect DDM connector. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  12. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 15-pin C1 connector. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair Light Blue wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  13. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If any voltage is present, repair Light Blue wire for short to voltage. If no voltage is present, go to next step.
  14. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, inspect window mechanism. Repair as needed. If mechanism is okay, replace window motor.
  15. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair White wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  16. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If any voltage is present, repair White wire for short to voltage. If no voltage is present, replace window motor.
  17. Ensure DDM connector and window motor connector are connected. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  18. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 15-pin C1 connector. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair Light Blue wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  19. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, inspect window mechanism. Repair as needed. If mechanism is okay, replace window motor.
  20. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair White wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, replace window motor.
  21. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, go to step  30 . If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  22. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If voltage is .02 volts or less, go to step  27 . If voltage is greater than .02 volts, go to next step.
  23. Disconnect driver's window motor connector. Measure resistance of Light Blue wire between window motor harness connector and terminal No. 13 on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Light Blue wire.
  24. Ensure DDM connector and window motor connector are connected. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  25. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 15-pin C1 connector. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If any voltage is present, repair Light Blue wire for short to voltage. If no voltage is present, go to next step.
  26. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, go to step  37 .
  27. Disconnect driver's window motor connector. Measure resistance of Light Blue wire between window motor harness connector and terminal No. 13 on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Light Blue wire.
  28. Ensure DDM connector and window motor connector are connected. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  29. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, go to step  43 .
  30. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If voltage is .02 volts or less, go to step  38 . If voltage is greater than .02 volts, go to next step.
  31. Disconnect driver's window motor connector. Measure resistance of Light Blue wire between window motor harness connector and terminal No. 13 on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Light Blue wire.
  32. Ensure DDM connector and window motor connector are connected. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  33. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 15-pin C1 connector. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair Light Blue wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  34. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If any voltage is present, repair Light Blue wire for short to voltage. If no voltage is present, go to next step.
  35. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, go to next step.
  36. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair White wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  37. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If any voltage is present, repair White wire for short to voltage. If no voltage is present, go to step  43 .
  38. Disconnect driver's window motor connector. Measure resistance of Light Blue wire between window motor harness connector and terminal No. 13 on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Light Blue wire.
  39. Ensure DDM connector and window motor connector are connected. Using scan tool, select BODY, DOOR MODULES, then ACTUATORS. Actuate DRV F WIN UP RLY, then DRV F WIN DN RLY. If driver's window operates in both directions, replace DDM. If driver's window does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  40. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 15-pin C1 connector. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair Light Blue wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  41. Ensure window motor connector is connected. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Connect second jumper wire to terminal No. 13 (Light Blue wire) and momentarily touch other end of jumper wire to terminal No. 1 (Tan/Light Blue wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. Window motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends on terminals No. 13 and 15. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates as specified, replace DDM. If motor does not operate, go to next step.
  42. Disconnect driver's door window motor connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 15 (White wire) on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair White wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  43. Measure resistance of White wire between window motor harness connector and terminal No. 15 on DDM C1 harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace window motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open White wire.
