Liftgate Lock Fails To Lock/Unlock

  1. Remove liftgate inner trim panel. Disconnect liftgate lock motor connector. Ensure passenger door module connector is connected. Connect test light between terminals No. 1 (Orange/Violet wire) and 2 (Pink/Violet wire) on liftgate door lock motor harness connector. Using scan tool, actuate PAS LOCK RELAY, then PAS UNLOCK RELAY while monitoring test light. If test light illuminates during actuation, replace liftgate lock motor. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Ensure ignition is off. Remove passenger's door inner trim panel. Disconnect passenger door module 15-pin C1 connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Orange/Violet wire between terminal No. 1 on liftgate door lock motor harness connector and terminal No. 5 on passenger door module 15-pin C1 connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Orange/Violet wire.
  3. Measure resistance of Pink/Violet wire between terminal No. 2 on liftgate door lock motor harness connector and terminal No. 7 on passenger door module 15-pin C1 connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, test is complete. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Orange/Violet wire.
